Nicola Smith focuses her practice on small business and litigation. Her services include the formation of new businesses, whether it be a corporation, a limited liability company, a partnership, or a non-profit corporation. She assists with the entire life cycle of a business after its formation, by advising on business management, by drafting documents, and by litigating matters before state and federal court. A large part of Nicola’s practice is devoted to providing regular business advice to clients and to drafting and negotiating contracts such as employment contracts, leases, vendor contracts, master service agreements, and purchase agreements.
Nicola also has significant experience in landlord-tenant issues, employment disputes, construction law, mechanics liens, mediation, and in Homeowner Association Law.
More Information
Nicola received her B.A. from the University of the South in Sewanee Tennessee. She received her juris doctorate from the West Virginia University of Law and in 2009. Prior to joining the Riddell Law Group, Nicola practiced business and tax law at Bowles Rice LP, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, and commercial and business litigation at Hoyer, Hoyer and Smith, PLLC, in Charleston, West Virginia.
